When building a feedlot, attention needs to be given to numerous aspects including heat, light, corrosion, ventilation, acoustics, cattle flow and accessibility with heavy equipment and maintenance arrangements.
Spanlift have much experience in building feedlot covers, and have a lot of knowledge regarding specially designed bay spacing’s. We take into account column locations, cattle pen areas and walkways, so that columns can be located out of sensitive areas, accompanied by our column protector system to protect cow’s hips and all sensitive bruising areas.
All our structures take into account corrosion control hence our structure is Fully Hot Dipped Galvanised, and our roof iron is galvanised sheet as recommended (as an option.)
Storm water is another consideration when building feedlots, because of the general size of the roof area. Spanlift takes into account water discharge locations in view of collection and possible reuse, ground slope etc.
Gate hinges can be welded onto columns as suited. Also, designed around the feed lanes, our structural steel will suit any headlock styles.
Ventilation is another important aspect of intensive farming. Our KattleVent system is a uniquely patented product designed by European engineers specially for Spanlift and our customers.
Lighting is another critical aspect of a feedlot. Spanlift can work with you to ensure you get the best lighting for your animals and provide the best animal welfare.
We have a team of design consultants who will work with you to make sure it is done properly. From start to finish – planning through to completion, we will work to ensure the best result for you.
